Sisters

'What happens if we choose that career; house; city; boy...will we remain the same.'

At the tram stop they stand 4' 8" in 13 years of female fraternity framed by angry manga hairstyles

'Oh if we swap sides our reflections come out right... hahaha...'

Morning sunlight splits through trees blurring the twin silhouettes bouncing to shared earbuds singing

review of chapbook

Prak was kind enough to share the working manuscript that this poem is a part of. He says “its journey is of the day to day and the end of the world, between is love, family life, death and the beyond of existence.” I see this journey well begun with “Sisters.” A moment on a tram expands into future fates, swapping identities, and pop music. Every person is a nexus of time, space and culture, and together we are an electric matrix, which Prak conveys in this and other poems with an exciting allusive restlessness.
